Life on site : transport and handling of the cable

Working on a building site is no picnic. There's a lot of handling to be done before, during and at the end of the job.
You have to bring all the necessary tools, connectors and above all cables, which represent a considerable amount of weight. Throughout the project, the cables have to be transported, moved and unrolled... So anything that can make your life easier or help you in your day-to-day work should be used to save you time and protect your health.

Save time: a valuable asset

Very tight deadlines, planning delays to be recovered, organisation with the other building trades, day-to-day unforeseen events... This is what life on the site is all about. You're running out of time, so you have to work fast and well!
On a day-to-day basis, unwinding cable is a long and tedious operation. Depending on the packaging you use, you won't have the same constraints.

Easier pulling for wire and cable coils
To use coils, you need to make a hole in the plastic to take out the wire or cable and pull it through. The more you unroll the product, the larger the hole will become and the more difficult it will be to pull. Similarly, when you have several rigid wires to pull at the same time, it's not always easy to place the coils one on top of the other and pull them together easily.

For H07V-U and H07V-R rigid wire coils, there is a reinforced handle system with a wire guide to make pulling easier: this is the PASSEO system. This packaging is practical because the handle makes it easy to carry your crown. Up to 5 crowns can be stacked and pulled at the same time.

Cable drums

Drums cannot be unwound without special tools. You need to carry with you a suitable unwinder, which is often cumbersome. One-piece unwinders with rollers or shoes are heavy. All this equipment takes up space, and conditions on site are not always ideal.

rotect your health! A long-term challenge

You've all heard the saying: "If you want to go far, look after your horse". Your work tool is you. So you need to look after your body if you want to stay fit for a long time.

Carrying the cable is a major part of your job and puts a huge strain on your back. Access to the site is not always practical. There is often no lift to get from one floor to another, so the only option is to take the stairs. The loads you carry must be limited.

Distribute the forces in your body
The Mobiway reel is practical because its clip-on flanges are fitted with handles. You can carry it alone or with a colleague anywhere on the site. If you're carrying it alone, the reel sits as close to your body as possible, so your back doesn't have to strain.

You can also use an unwinding trolley. This is used both to transport the reel and to unwind it. Although it can be dismantled, its weight can be an obstacle to its use. If you have to dismantle it and transport it to a more accessible corner of the site, you'll have to carry more than 30 kg!

Transporting with handles
Coils are wrapped in plastic film, and the simplest but not the most practical way of transporting them is to create a 'home-made' handle by piercing the film. That's why PASSEO is equipped with a handle, so you can carry several crowns at once, effortlessly. The N'Roll dispenser, on the other hand, accepts coils of cable weighing up to 20 kg, and thanks to its integrated castors, you no longer need to carry them. Your back will thank you.

Smooth movements
Roller or roller unwinders are also heavy, cumbersome and noisy. You can injure yourself when unwinding, because the reel may come out of the system and roll away! When you're pulling, unwinding is often a jerky process with an unwinder, and your shoulders don't appreciate it very much. When you use the Mobiway system, you don't have to strain. Unwinding is smooth and silent. It's so pleasant.

In short, you're doing manual, physical, strenuous, tiring work. However, more and more solutions are being developed to support and help you on your sites.
